#9 AEsir-Vanir War (Norse)
In the Norse mythology there were two pantheons/groups of gods, Aesir and Vanir, these gods will become one after this conflict. The war started after Freya, a Vanir goddess, came to Asgard, the home of the Aesir and started using her powers which were against the values of the Aesir. The Aesir would turn on Freya, blaming her for their imperfections, and burned Freya alive three times in an attempt to murder her, but she would rise again three times from her ashes. Because of this, a long war will break out ending in a truce.
The war is an important event in Norse mythology, and the implications for the potential historicity surrounding accounts of the war are a matter of scholarly debate and discourse.
