Karl Marx (1818 – 1883)

Marx became stateless and spent much of his life in London, where he continued to develop his thought in collaboration with German thinker Friedrich Engels and published various works, the most well-known being the 1848 pamphlet The Communist Manifesto. While on his deathbed, Marx’s housekeeper requested he tell her his last words, so that she could record them for posterity. Marx scoffed:

“Go on – get out. Last words are for fools who haven’t said enough.”
